Značka Givenchy vznikla v roce 1952 a nese jméno svého zakladatele Huberta de Givenchy. Tento francouzský aristokrat již od útlého věku snil o tom, že jednou vybuduje světovou módní značku. Jako mladý absolvoval Givenchy cenné stáže a praxe v domě Diora, Pigueta a dalších. Sen se Givenchymu postupně plnil a mohl se pyšnit tím, že oblékal Audrey Hepburn nebo také známé rodiny Guinessů a Kennedyů. Od té doby patří značka Givenchy k lídrům jak ve světě módy, tak v oblasti parfémů a dalších kosmetických produktů.
